Creating Fun And Educational Play Dates

Who does not love a good play date? Mommies get a chance to talk face to face with other mommies and the little ones love the opportunity to interact with their friends. Sounds like a win-win, right?
Play dates are great, we all agree on this. But they could be even better if they are educational. What could possibly beat getting together for some good old fashioned adult time, letting your little one play with friends, and leaving with the satisfaction of knowing your child may have even learned something?
It is easy to make play dates educational. Chances are you can do it without the little ones ever knowing. After all, many experts believe that the best way for little ones to learn is through play. So slip in a couple of educational games or puzzles the next time your little one sits down with his friends. If they don’t seem interested, offer some paper and crayons and encourage your little guy to show his friend how he writes his name. Practice makes perfect right? Maybe his friend will even learn something, or help your little guy perfect his J.
Don’t stress yourself out over making sure your child’s play dates are educational. Kids are always learning. Chances are your play dates are already a learning experience for your little one. But with a little extra creativity from mom they could be extra beneficial.
